This paper presents an experimental study on the influence of the level of prestressing force on the flexural
behavior of bonded prestressed concrete (BPC) beams. Three BPC beams with the same geometrical dimensions, reinforcement detailing, and concrete compressive strength with different levels of prestressing force
(40%, 60%, 80% yeild strength of the strands) were cast and tested. The four-point bending test model was
employed to observe the bending behavior. The experimental findings reveal that a 20% increase in prestress
level enhances cracking resistance by approximately 30% to 41%. Before the yielding of the nonprestressed
reinforcement, the prestress level is proportional to the stiffness of the beams. Theoretical predictions of the
flexural capacity are compared with the experimental results, showing good agreement.
