This study aims to describe the needs of inpatients for social work services at the Tây Nam Nghệ An General Hospital from March to August 2023. This is a cross-sectional study using quantitative research methods, involving 1,061 inpatients. The results showed that patients have diverse needs for social work services. Four basic services that inpatients at Tây Nam Nghệ An General Hospital desire to access and utilize include: the need for information, guidance, and counseling services; the need for connections to resources and charitable support; the need for psychosocial support; and the need for health education and communication services. Some recommendations are made regarding human resources, facilities, communication, and supervision of social work services to better meet the needs of patients during their treatment at the hospital and to improve the overall quality of hospital services
