A REVIEW OF INTERNATIONAL STUDIES ON DEVELOPING STEM
EDUCATION COMPETENCIES FOR TEACHERS - LESSONS FOR TEACHER
TRAINING AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT IN VIETNAM

Based on a systematic review and evaluation of studies (articles)
published in the Web of Science (WoS) and Scopus databases related to the
topics of "STEM education competencies", "developing STEM education
competencies", and "STEM education competency training programs", we
selected 40 articles related to these issues with the aim of: 1) Analyzing the
perspectives on the components of STEM education competencies for teachers
and the factors influencing the development of STEM education competencies;
2) Evaluating the approaches and models for developing STEM education
competencies for students/teachers; 3) Drawing lessons for Vietnam in the training
and professional development of teachers' STEM education competencies to
meet the requirements of the 2018 General Education Curriculum.
