In 2023, Kon Tum province recorded significant economic development, with total investment reaching 27.03 trillion VND and GRDP increasing to 34.54 trillion VND. In 2022, the province ranked 37th out of 63 provinces in terms of provincial competitive capacity, despite growth, Kon Tum’s position in the overall product ranking remains low, standing at 57th out of 63 provinces. Notably, private economic investment accounted for over 70% of total investment, while foreign direct investment (FDI) represented an insignificant proportion, less than 1%. This paper utilizes descriptive and comparative methods to analyze the current competitive capacity and private investment situation of Kon Tum province from 2019 to 2023, thereby proposing solutions to attract private investment and enhance provincial competitiveness.
