Challenges to protecting the rights of female migrant workers and Vietnam's efforts

Currently, international migration for employment purposes has emerged as a global problem. This is both an inevitable consequence and a requirement of the economic globalization process. As of 2021, there are approximately 5,3 million Vietnamese people migrating, living and working in 130 countries and territories, over 80% of whom stay in developed countries, even the actual figure may be higher. The article analyzes the potential risks of being discriminated, exploited and abused among women migrant workers, provides the overview of Vietnam’s efforts, and proposes a number of solutions to minimize these potential risks.
