In the current context of robust globalization and Vietnam’s demographic advantage, promoting the overseas employment of workers has emerged as a practical policy to tackle employment challenges and contribute to the nation’s development. However, this approach also brings about opportunities and obstacles when these workers return. Given favorable conditions, returning laborers can serve as valuable assets for the socio-economic development of the country. Nonetheless, the existing reality indicates a lack of adequate attention in managing the return and reintegration of foreign workers into the economic and social fabric of Vietnam, leading to significant difficulties for them in securing local employment. Consequently, specific and proactive strategies are necessary to address sustainable employment for this group of workers and harness their noteworthy strengths.
