English is an important "key" to a successful career in the current integration context, therefore, it is required that each student must focus on studying well while studying at school. For students majoring in English Pedagogy and English Linguistics, learning English well is very important and necessary for future work and career development. However, to learn English effectively, in addition to studying in class, English majors need to be equipped with the skills to self-study English outside the class as well as experiences for self-study so as to improve English language proficiency. The article focuses on sharing some experiences to enhance the effectiveness of self-study outside of class for students majoring in English Pedagogy and English Linguistics.
