The article discusses the main concepts in political science, such as independence, self-determination, and international relations. The interconnection between them is analyzed, with particular emphasis on the strong influence of globalization and international integration, as well as political instability in the regional and global context, on independence, self-determination, and international relations. The article also points out the dual nature of the relationship between independence, self-determination, and international relations. Moreover, the question is raised of how to preserve and strengthen independence, self-determination, and enhance international integration in contemporary international relations, including Vietnam, and especially in
