We fabricated a biomedical nanomaterial system based on magnetic ferrite particles and noble metals. The manufactured material has a magnetic core structure and a precious metal shell by growing seeds in organic solvents. TEM images show that the synthesized magnetic ferrite (Fe3O4) nanoparticles have a uniform, spherical shape with an average particle size of 9.4 ± 0.8 nm, while the hybrid nanoparticles between magnetic ferrite and metal precious (Fe3O4@Ag) has a core-shell structure with an average size of 15.5 ± 1.3 nm. The hybrid nanoparticles after surface functionalization with poly(maleic anhydride-alt-1-octadecene) became hydrophilic and well dispersed in water. Results of in-vitro MRI/CT test data under physiological simulation conditions with varying salt concentrations show that the fabricated magnetic ferrite-noble metal (Fe3O4@Ag) hybrid nanomaterial has excellent image contrast. T2 and good X-ray attenuation properties and high stability. With these outstanding properties, the biomedical nanomaterials based on magnetic ferrite particles and noble metals presented in this study have potential for biological imaging techniques in practical applications.
