ABSTRACT As a large region with a key role in the current global geo-political situation, the Indo-Pacific receives great attention in term of international diplomacy. The German Government adopted its policy guidelines on the Indo Pacific region on 2 September 2020 to adapt to changes in the international situation, especially in the context of the adoption of strategies for this region by major countries. This policy not only contributes to the shaping of Indo-Pacific strategy but also has a strong impact on Germany's relationship with ASEAN as its strategic focus in this region. In this article, the authors analyze the context, content, and measures of Germany's Indo-Pacific strategy and its impacts on Germany-ASEAN relationship.
