The Red River Delta region: imminent requirements for sustainable development

The Red River Delta (RRD) is one of two big Delta in Northern of Vietnam.The main purpose in our study is to concentrate to maximize the advantages and occupy important position of the RRD in the national socio-economy, while guaranteed the sustainable development of the region. Some methods are used in the study about the RRD region include: collect data; analysis, generalize, comparative; field; consultants. The main results of the article which indicate that the RRD region is a region where there are many advantages to develop and occupy an important position in the national socio-economy. However, the process of territorial exploitation and socio-economic development in the region there have been some problems that have hindered the promotion of advantages and the role of the region in the national economy, such as: the population, labour, employment; the conversion of land use purpose; the high industrial concentration in the central region; the change of economic structure. Based on the analysis of potentials, advantages as well as the role and the problems that have arised from the development process in the region, some solutions to solve the problem, in order to maximize the advantages and enhance the position, parallel to ensure the sustainable development of the region are suggested. The article helps readers to visualize about the potential, strengths as well as issues that arising out of exploiting them in the RRD, which that to attract more attention from scientists, agencies, investors, ... so that developt the region to meet the sustainable requirements and "continue to hold its position and aparticularlyimportant role in the development of the country", "contributing to improve Vietnam's position in over the world”
