Reading is a great way leading people to the world knowledge. One’s reading competence, however may be affected by many reasons such as the reading habit, reading interest or type of materials…This descriptive method attempts to analyze the English reading skills of the first year students, basic for enhancement activities. The respondents of the study were 80 students of the first year students composed of two classes from Vinh University, academic year 2022-2023. They were composed of 50 males and 30 females. The sampling procedure to be used in getting the respondents was the cluster random sampling.
