Abstract: Assessment of potential mangrove land suitability for mangrove tree species is a multi-objective analysis and decision-making problem in coastal mangrove development planning. In this study, the application of GIS technology to assess ecological adaptation for Bruguiera gymnorhiza (L.) is based on 16 indicators of 4 criteria: (i) Composition of grain levels, (ii) Tidal depth, (iii) Water salinity and (iv) Current land use status. There are 18 types of land units evaluated for Bruguiera gymnorhiza (L.), of which 6 types of land units are highly adaptive (accounting for 14,8%), 6 types of land units at the medium adaptability (31,59%), 1 types of land units at the little adaptation (0,86%), and 5 types of land units unadapted (52,7%) to the growthe and development of Bruguiera gymnorhiza (L.). The result is a scientific basis for the planning of mangrove forest development in the coastal area of Nghe An province.
