The study aimed to identify the most suitable techniques in the nursery for the propagation of sedum by cuttings. The experiments were arranged in CRD style with 3 replicates in the nursery at Ngu Chi Son commune, Sa Pa district, Lao Cai province. The results of the study on the influence of the location of the cuttings, the length of the cuttings and the growing medium on the rooting and sprouting of sedum showed that: The top cuttings, which came from upper parts of the stem, rooted after 7 days with the rooting rate reaching 95%, and sprouted after 10 days with the rate of 72.4%. With the most suitabe cutting length of 2 cm each cutting had 5.4 roots and 1.96 sprouts, averagely. A mixture of fine sand and suidden soil (1 : 1) was the optimal conditio for the growth of sedum roots and sprouts (reaching an average root length of 2.57 cm and a sprout length of 2.08 cm) after 4 weeks of cuttings).
