Blended learning is a unique combination of face-to-face learning and online learning. This model well develops students' self-study competence because students not only learn in class like in traditional classrooms, but also need to study at home before and after learning in class. Students' self-study is supported and supervised by teachers through an information technology application platform. However, in order to successfully implement the science teaching model, teachers need to be well-prepared and fully implement the steps to guide students to study according to the science teaching model. This study proposes a teaching process according to the combined teaching model to develop students' self-study competence in teaching the chapter “Reproduction” (Biology 11) and specific examples of the topic “Asexual reproduction in organisms and applications” of the chapter “Reproduction” (Biology 11). The results of this study will be a reference not only for teachers of Biology but also for teachers of other subjects to apply flexibly in accordance with physical conditions and subject specifics.
