Plato (427-347 BC) - The ancient Greek philosopher once said: "If the shoemaker is a bad worker, the nation is not too worried about it, the people will have to put on poor quality shoes. But if the teacher is ignorant, there will be a whole generation of incompetent people and evil people in the country." That view shows Plato's insight towards the role of teachers - educators for the development of each country. So far, that quote is still worth, it because of the fact that the power of countries is not in the wealth of natural resources or other factors that are human resources. Therefore, investment in education, for people is above and to do well, countries need to invest in the quality of the people who do education, teachers. "The educator himself needs to be educated" is C. Marx's view of the quality and capacity requirements required of the educator. The article offers some reflections from the above educational perspective of C. Marx and relates that view to the current educational practice in Vietnam.
