The mathematical aids and tools competency is one of the five elements of mathematical competence in Vietnam’s Mathematics Education Curriculum 2018. The paper focuses on investigating the characteristics of the content of the 6th grade geometry and proposes some basic measures to foster the mathematical aids and tools competency for students through teaching this content.
