Community-based tourism is becoming a trend and a popular type today. Developing community-based tourism in association with hunger eradication and poverty alleviation in western Nghe An is a correct and highly practical orientation of the Nghe An province. Grasping the development trend and in order to exploit the available tourism potential, Con Cuong is the pioneer district in Nghe An to build tourism models based on exploiting Thai cultural heritage. Houses on stilts were repaired, art clubs were formed, traditional craft villages were restored, traditional dishes were recreated on a tray of rice for tourists... More and more people come to Con Cuong, local people have more income. Those are good signs for the province's tourism industry. However, a problem that needs to be raised from the beginning for Con Cuong tourism is how to combine with conservation of Thai cultural heritage, economic benefits from tourism activities must be in harmony with environmental, cultural and social benefits, exploitation and development without affecting future generations.
