The source of crime regulation of the criminal law is one of the important issues for legislative activities as well as law application activities. The source of crime provisions of the criminal law is a content that belongs to the source of the criminal law industry in Vietnam, however, the source of crime provisions of the criminal law has a narrower connotation. Previously, case precedent did not exist in the legal system as it was officially applied in the trial of criminal cases by the Court. In recent years, up to 07 criminal precedents have been published and officially applied in the practice of adjudicating similar cases in the future. Currently, when studying case law, there are still subjects who confuse precedent with the source of Vietnamese criminal law in general and the source of criminal regulations of Vietnam's criminal law in particular. The clear delineation of the criminal law's sources of criminal law and the role of criminal precedents helps to unify the understanding of theory as well as the practical application of the law.
