In recent years, in the province of Vinh Long, many policies on social security have been implemented to support the poor: Support for health care, education, housing, credit loans, employment, vocational training, production guidance, legal assistance. However, besides the achieved results, the work of poverty reduction still faces a number of difficulties and limitations such as: The coordination between sectors, levels and some localities is sometimes not frequent and complete; income of a part of population, especially areas with a large number of ethnic minority households, is still large; Agricultural production, aquaculture is unsustainable. Researching to find solutions to reduce poverty according to the multi-dimensional approach to improve the living conditions of poor households, towards sustainable poverty reduction in Vinh Long province is very necessary.
