The more and more development of society requires each individual to improve himself. The autonomy which should be practiced by every human being is one of the good virtues. This article clarifies the concept "autonomy", the necessary skills that an autonomous learner should possess and the benefits they may obtain. However, the learners' autonomy does not naturally happen but could be achieved after a long-lasting process. Besides, the efforts of learners, there is also a significant contribution of the family and school in how to promote the learners autonomy in the learning process.
