Land assessment for Rhizophoza apiculata tree development is carried out based on collecting and inheriting base maps, field surveys, monitoring and additional analysis; GIS technology was applied to make a database and support ecological adaptation assessment for double mangroves. The study area has 127 types of land units, which are evaluated for Rhizophoza apiculatas expedience based on 16 indicators of 4 criteria: (i) Type of mangrove soil, (ii) Substrate and soil texture, (iii) Inundation depth, (iv) Current status of mangroves. The results showed that 48 land units are very adaptable (124.1 ha, 17.3%), 44 land units are moderately adapted (128.9 ha, 25.6%), 5 land units are less adapted (31.2 ha), 4.4%) and 30 land units are not adapted (377.6 ha, 52.7%) for the development of double mangroves. The research results are the scientific basis for the expansion of area and development of suitable Rhizophoza apiculata in the coastal area of Nghe An province.
