ASSESSING THE PATTERN AND THE MANAGEMENT SITUATION TO MANGROVE FOREST IN THE COASTAL AREA OF NGHE AN PROVINCE

Abstract:
The article is the result of the study on the status of mangrove forests and forests in the coastal areas of Nghe An province, with the aim of assessing the status and situation of area changes. The total area of mangroves and forests on sand of coastal in Nghe An province declined rapidly in the period from 2004 to 2017. In 13 years, Nghe An lost 875 ha, an average of 67.3 ha per year. These types of forests are often fragmented therefore it is difficult to manage and protect. In addition, due to the pressure of socio-economic development projects, many areas of mangrove forests are at risk of degradation. Research results can be considered a scientific basis for the management, conservation and restoration of coastal forests to help adapt to climate change for coastal communities in Nghe An province.
