Building an assessment toolkit for assessing natural science competence of secondary students

Natural science competence is one of the crucial competences for secondary school students that are developed in teaching natural science subject. However, building instruments for assessing natural science competence according to PISA approach is not considered. The article presents the concept and framework of natural science competence according to PISA approach; background, principles, processes and examples to develop a set of tools for assessing natural science competencies of secondary students with access to PISA. Research results are important materials to prepare well for the implementation of the new general education program, and at the same time, it is accessible to regional and international student competency assessment trends.
