English for Information Technology (IT) is an important course for IT engineering students. In fact, most students have certain difficulties when approaching this module. The application of IT in teaching the subject will create a lively effect, enhance the interaction in teaching, help students understand the lesson faster, and expand the ability to apply professional knowledge later. The article presents orientations and experiences in applying IT in teaching English for IT majors at Vinh University. The article also focuses on clarifying a number of teaching methods and techniques applied to improve the quality of students' learning of Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing skills in the direction of competency development.
