Investment activities in the western mountainous region of Nghe An in recent years, though not commensurate with the regional resources, have made a significant contribution to the local socio-economic development. The article analyzes investment projects in the western highland districts of Nghe An in the period 2016-2019 to explore the causes and propose feasible solutions. Through the analysis of secondary data from the Department of Planning and Investment of Nghe An province, it can be seen that the number of investment projects and the scale of capital invested in the western region of Nghe An are too modest compared to their potential. After finding out the causes, the author proposes a number of solutions, which focus on improving infrastructure, the state management of investment activities and investment promotion to attract more investment projects to this area.
