Abstract
SPECIES COMPONENT AND DISTRIBUTION OF MANGROVE PLANTS
IN COASTAL AREA OF NGHE AN PROVINCE
This article was the result of research on species component and distribution of mangrove plants in the coastal area of Nghe An province. Our research carried out along the coastal area from Quynh Luu district to Vinh city. Determining species composition, density, coverage and distribution of mangrove plants was the aim of research. There were 107 species of mangrove plants in Nghe An province, including 11 true mangrove species, 96 associated mangrove species. In the total of species, medicinal plants was 41 species, foodstuff plants for human was 9 species, animal feed was 6 species, plants for wood and essential oil were 3 species, ornamental plants was 2 species; plants for fiber, fat and dye only was 1 species. Rhizophora stylosa was the dominant species found in the most research sites (8/17 points). These results are scientific basis for the management, use, conservation and restoration of mangrove plants in this area. It also helps people communities increasing biodiversity and adapting to climate change.
