The increasing number of non-performing loans resulting from business instability is causing challenges and demanding for enhanced credit risk management in commercial banks. The credit risk management activities at the Bac Quang Binh branch of Vietnam Investment and Development Joint Stock Commercial Bank (BIDV) have encountered certain shortcomings, such as inadequate risk identification capabilities, ineffective determination and compensation for loan risks, and insufficient customer loan management. Based on an analysis of the current credit risk management situation at this bank branch, this article highlights the causes and proposes solutions to address the existing limitations and enhance risk management in the future.
