Knowledge mapping technique is known as a smart note-taking method with the ideas of using short words and vivid images so that the human brain can quickly access, memorize and save for a long term storage. Therefore, it not only helps the students memorize in a certain sequence, but also helps them relate the facts, stimulate creative brains to create for the learning process. Using this technique helps the students not need to spend time and effort to record dense content, but though concise titles, symbols, tow-dimensional images to remember in an overall and detailed way. In this article the author has summarized the content, advantages and limitations of this technique and evaluated its application in teaching English at Vinh university, and proposed the solutions improve the efficiency in teaching English though knowledge mapping technique.
