Along with the establishment of Ha Tinh province in 1831, the space of Ha Tinh
provincial capital was gradually formed. Experiencing many historical upheavals, the
provincial capital of Ha Tinh province has many changes from function, geographical
space to infrastructure, population size, socio-economic development speed. The article
focuses on restoring the spatial variation of Ha Tinh urban area from 1831 to 2019, thereby
pointing out the role of Ha Tinh provincial capital in Ha Tinh province in different aspects.
