“Hand kneading dough” method is an active teaching method, which is suitable for guiding students to explore natural science problems, contributing to the development of problem-solving ability, discovery and creativity. Problem-solving capacity is one of the core competencies in the goal of the General Education program 2018. By analyzing the manifestations of problem-solving ability in the 2018 General Education program in natural and social subjects, compared with the teaching process by the "hand kneading dough" method, multiple matching points were found. Therefore, the application of this method in teaching natural and social subjects in primary schools will help students in the formation and development of problem-solving capacity. In this article, the method of "hand kneading dough" has been studied and applied to design a teaching plan and organize the teaching of the lesson “Roots, stems, leaves of plants” in 3rd grade to develop problem-solving capacity for students.
