The substrate and density have a great influence on the growth, development, yield and quality of strawberries’ fruits. The experiments were designed in a greenhouse by the Split-plot method, 2 factors of densities and substrates, 12 treatments and 3 replicates in Muong Long commune, Ky Son district, Nghe An province in years of 2021 and 2022. The purposes of this research were to evaluate the effects of densities and substrates on yield and quality of strawberries` fruits. The substrates (G) were arranged in large plots including 4 types of G1 (100% coconut peat), G2 (75% coconut peat + 25% rice husk), G3 (50% coconut peat + 50% rice husk ) and G4 (25% coconut peat + 75% rice husk). The densities (M) were arranged in small plots with 3 levels of M 1 (125,000 plants/ha), M2 (100,000 plants/ha) and M3 (83,333 plants/ha). The results showed that the substrates and densities were a great influences on the yield and quality of strawberries` fruits. The number of fruits per plant (7.93 fruits per plant), fruit width (3.10 cm), fruit length (4.50 cm), fruit weight (16.73 gram per fruit), yield per plant (109.98 gram), brix (8.47 %) and vitamin C content (77.68 mg/100g) were the highest at the substrate of 75% coconut peat + 25% rice husk combined with planting density of 100,000 plants per ha. The yield and brix/acid index were high at the substrate of 75% coconut peat + 25% rice husk combined with planting density of 100,000 and 125,000 plants per ha (8.61 tons/ha and 10.36 respectively).
